Beautiful neo-renaissance brooch
18k (750‰) finely chiseled yellow gold, polychromed enamel, in the round with gold or silver paillon depending on the chosen tint
Pattern of chimaera and scrolls adorned with vintage cut or rose-cut diamonds, in the center a button pearl and a tasseled oval pearl with a rose-cut diamond, pearls, likely natural
A system in the back allows the brooch to be attached to another support (necklace or bodice)
Dimensions: 6,2 x 4,2 cm
Gross weight: 24,9 g
Lucien Falize replicated this pattern over several years with subtle changes in the colors and sometimes changing the arrangement in order to stay true to the concept of a renaissance piece of jewelry
A similar model by Bapst and Falize was exhibited in Amsterdam in 1877 and during the 1889 Paris World fair
