Note : This work, in continuation of Isamu Noguchi's previous sculptures is a commemoration to human disaster which took place at Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The Noguchi foundation notes that it's arched form evokes traditional Japanese tombstones but can also be interpreted as a ball of atomic fire during the first miliseconds of an explosion. It's form can also be interpreted as a bridge, which Isamu Noguchi represents philanthropically between the United States and Japan.
