Note : In 1958, Widdicomb launched a new series of furniture titled "Origins", designed by George Nakashima. To win over the public, Nakashima specifically chose to work with visually seductive woods such as laurel, dark walnut, Carpathian elm and rosewood. He developped a unique finish which he called "Sundra", which means "beautiful thing". The artisans at Widdicomb handmade the pieces that made up the original Origins series based on George Nakashima own techniques, which he supervised himself to guarantee the desired level of craftsmanship and precision.
