On Wednesday January 24, PIASA is pleased to organize a sale of works by the artist Pol Bury (1922-2005), from the Velma Bury collection. Comprising 154 lots, this sale offers a remarkable panorama of the Belgian artist's work. A major figure in kinetic art, Pol Bury never ceased to take movement as the central theme of his work, but above all as a vital principle. The selection includes animated and "frozen" sculptures, collages on paper, models, paintings...

This sale of works by Pol Bury from the Velma Bury collection includes historic works by Pol Bury such as Mobile from 1957 (lot 11), a sculpture from 1967 entitled 3 cubes superposés (lot 44) and Cercle sur un triangle (lot 22) from 1978. The selection also includes a number of variations on the famous volumes figés, as well as previously unpublished drawings and paintings by the artist. Finally, a unique work by Alina Szapocznikow (lot 26) representing Pol Bury, souvenir of 1967, will also be part of the sale.
